The United Nations security council was welcomed in a different and strange way by the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Head of state Félix Tchisekedi at the Cité de l’Union Africaine in the Capital city of Kinshasa.
The UN security council has sent a delegation of it’s members to have a scrutiny and understanding of the strange warfare that has become rampant in the Eastern DRcongo.
Félix Tchisekedi Tchilombo the president of Democratic Republic of Congo welcomed this deligation saying that “ You are welcome in Congo, a country under attack “.
This expression has raised sympathetic sentiments to the deligation, which made it to make it’s pledge and efforts to bring the warfare to an end by encouraging both sides to continue with negotiations, and implementations of Luanda and Nairobi peace process.
The meeting with the United Nations security council was merely to discuss about the rampant confrontations between M23 and the government coalition that led to an insecurity in Eastern provinces of DRC.
This meeting was also consisting of the MONUSCO mandate in the DRcongo, no public announcements were made about this mandate.
The Congolese foreign minister Christopher Lutunda, since he was present in the discussions, he called upon the United Nations security council, to straighten up the Blue Helmet peace keepers “ MONUSCO “, in order to let this patternship come up wih a contributive factor in the peace restoration in the country.
This comes after different demonstrations and attacks by Congolese citizens against the Blue Helmet peace keepers under which many lost their lives. Congolese citizens wants them back for they contribute nothing to bring back peace in the areas of war.
“ if we want a MONUSCO that serves well and legitimate in the eyes of the Congolese, we need to reinforce it’s mandate and give all the needful, if not there is no reason for throwing military or civilian men into the business they don’t have the real means to “. Christopher Lutunda said.
The Congolese gouvernement keeps on accusing Kigali of backing the active Congolese insurgent M23 that keeps on conquering new entities in the North Kivu province, something Rwanda consistently denies.
The United Nations security council has announced to be in the intensified province of North KIVU capital city Goma as well as calling the armed groups to Cease fire and come to the political table and make negotiations with the Kinshasa government.
