The United Nations security council deligation that has been sent to DRC for a five days trip, to study what is triggering a persistent insecurity in the Eastern DRcongo.
The deligation has met earlier last week congolese officials in the capital city of Kinshasa, where different discussions we held at the Palais de la nation hence the Congolese officials have kept on insisting on the UN security council to impose sanctions on Rwanda, though to be sponsoring the M23 mouvement in Eastern province of North Kivu accusations that Rwanda has kept on denying rather calls them provocative language.
The United Nations security council deligation has visited the province that is facing war, in it’s capital Goma, where discussions were held up with provincial and other national authorities.
One among the deligation council spoke to RFI from Goma saying that it is probative to sanction those thought to be sponsoring the M23 mouvement but suggestively said that “the only key to peace is to have political negotiations and security solution , do not expect the United Nations to settle things instantly and magically instead of congolese authorities.
The deligation has insisted on the Congolese government to come up with a security solution and not suggesting confrontations as a peace giving tool ,
According to the UN security agencies in the Democratic Republic of The Congo MONUSCO’s mandate as it was put on the agenda for the deligation, the council has urged the Congolese government that it’s forces are not to fight against Rebels, no that is not it’s mission instead they are to protect the innocent civilians from violant militia groups in the country instead that is the responsibility of the national army Forces FARDC to pursue the country’s insurgencies. This comes after congolese have kept an eye on United Nations security agents to fight against M23 mouvement in the Eastern DRcongo, something that they claimed to be not responsible of.
