Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, has accused Ukraine of supporting terrorism and said Kiev has decided to intimidate Russian citizens.
He said that the drone strike on Moscow earlier on Tuesday was directed at “civilian targets” and that the city’s air defenses will be strengthened. They had done well, he remarked, but “there was something to work on.”
The president, who gave the order for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February of last year, also threatened reprisal in remarks reported by Tass, saying Ukrainian citizens should be aware that their government is pressuring Russia to act.
Some of Moscow’s wealthiest neighbourhoods were the focus of Tuesday’s drone raids. According to Reuters, this area also encompassed the west, where Putin and other prominent people live.
A security officer stationed in the upscale gated neighborhood of Zhukovka, close to where the strikes occurred said!
Approximately six more booms occurred every ten minutes or so over the next 45 minutes after a major explosion at 6:15 a.m.
Everyone stepped outside or out onto their balconies, but nobody knew what was going on.
Dmitry, who resides in Moscow’s westernmost, pine-forested Odintsovo area, told #Guardians
Our house began to shake at six in the morning. There were only five to seven explosions total.
Again blaming Nato expansion, Vladimir Putin said that Russia was not the one who started the war.
After the fall of the Soviet Union, he claimed, competition between the Russian Federation and Ukraine was inevitable, but it was anticipated that it would proceed in a peaceful manner.
He stated that Russia was duped when they pledged to not expand Nato to the east and even reached Ukraine, which was promised eventual Nato membership, and that Ukraine was subsequently controlled by individuals who started down the path of inciting anti-Russian sentiment at the suggestion of the west.
The Kremlin has claimed that the battle in Ukraine will never endanger the lives of everyday Russians, yet for the first time in the 15-month conflict, Moscow has become the target of a significant drone strike.
Nearly every day, Russia continues to pound Ukraine with lethal drone and missile attacks. Tuesday morning saw the third airstrike against Kyiv in the last 24 hours.
According to the Russian defense ministry, eight drones attacked the city overnight, but according to Russian media close to the security services, the actual number of drones involved was far higher—more than 30.
A presidential advisor for Ukraine denied that Kiev was personally engaged, but added that Kyiv was enjoying watching the events and expected an escalation in such attacks.
Regarding the attacks: Of course we are happy to observe and anticipate an increase in attacks. Mykhailo Podolyak stated on the Breakfast Show YouTube channel, “Of course, we have nothing to do directly with this.
Similar assaults on Ukrainian cities continue on a monthly and occasionally even daily basis, forcing locals to flee or take refuge in subway tunnels. The worst attacks have killed many people by striking huge residential structures or busy business districts.
