The White House reiterated on Tuesday that Washington does not encourage assaults within Russia and is focused on aiding Ukraine reclaim its territory. Washington is still gathering evidence on claims of drones striking in Moscow.
“We watched the news, and we’re still learning more about what occurred. As a general rule, we oppose strikes inside of Russia, according to a statement from a White House official.
The spokeswoman referred to Russian attacks on Kyiv, which have been attacked by drones or missiles 17 times in May, and said that Washington was “focused on providing Ukraine with the equipment and training they need to retake their own sovereign territory.”
Russia claimed that on Tuesday, Ukrainian drones attacked affluent regions of Moscow, specifically aiming for homes owned by Russian aristocracy, including President Vladimir Putin. The incidents, according to Moscow’s mayor, left two individuals hurt.
According to Putin, the attack on Tuesday was an effort to frighten and provoke Russia, and the air defenses surrounding the capital would be bolstered.

The regional governor reported that a Ukrainian bombardment on a center for displaced people in the border region of Belgorod resulted in one death and two injuries.
“Artillery fire from Ukrainian soldiers hit a center for displaced people holding elderly citizens and kids… According to Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on Telegram, two others were hurt in addition to the security guy who was killed.
