Banyamulenge living in Mbarara, Uganda, are honoring the hero of Mulenge, General Rukunda Michel, widely known as Makanika. In this regard, they are organizing a football match, and on a commemorative photo, they will write the last words spoken by this hero.
An announcement from the leadership of the Banyamulenge, known as Mutualite, was released yesterday, Friday, April 11, 2025, reminding the residents of Mbarara to participate in this event and to arrive on time.
The announcement states: “Hello residents of Mbarara, as you know we have an event to commemorate Gen. Rukunda Makanika tomorrow, April 12, 2025.”
It continues: “We request everyone to arrive on time. The time is five o’clock. It will take place at Daystar Cathedral.”
Furthermore, this announcement requests the families of the Banyamulenge living in this part of Western Uganda to contribute the requested amounts, which will help in organizing this event properly.
It states: “All families are required to contribute the requested amounts.”
