
The Congolese National Electoral Independent Commission (CENI) staffs in GOMA to strike due to no payments
The Congolese National Electoral Commission CENI staffs, have threatened to strike because they do not receive their monthly payment and allowances to run smoothly their enrollment mission for the next presidential election in the North Kivu province.
The CENI staffs claim to be working under poor conditions in the operation as the authorities do not get the concern to help the staff in all conditioning aspects to run the operation rightfully.
According to some polical analysts claim that this negligence of CENI staff will cause a corruptive spirit among workers.
The Staff also said to okapi radio on Thursday that they have already finished a month with no payments down on their accounts, that we propose a strike against these poor conditions we are going through as enrollment center staff and government workers, who do not receive anything from their work.
This comes after the government of Kinshasa has accused the M23 movement of being a stumbling block to the smooth running of the national enrollment in the province of North Kivu, Which later reveals to be not, rather poor facility conditions to the Staff.
The corruptive minding system said to be surging if no steps taken forward to give the CENI staffs good working conditions and salary payments at the right time.
Not only in the North Kivu province, it is said to be countrywide in all province constituting the country, where some enrollment centers claim to have not received the enrollment machines thus citizens not receiving the electoral cards which will cause unfair presidential election in the Democratic Republic of The Congo at the end of 2023.
