Kamanyora, Warungu territory in South KIVU , b’Anyamulenge denied to get presidential voting cards.
This happened today midday on 20 Feb2023, this happened after they were going to have presidential voting cards as usual in Mukamba voting station. When Minembwe Capital News was talking to Kamanyora residents, they reportedly said that “ they have told us that in Walungu Zone, no m’Unyamulenge is allowed to be enrolled, and here in Mukamba we are denied us to to be enrolled, confrontations are going on ” they said.
They continued saying that when Banyamulenge pleaded to be enrolled as it is not for the first time they get these presidential voting cards, they were answered to wait for the leader as they stated that “ you have to wait for the group leader , we waited when the group leader arrived, he told us that Banyamulenge people are not allowed to have presidential voting cards”.
This act continues escalating bad tensions in South KIVU, and this is not for the first time this happens, in Kalemi this happened too when Banyamulenge people were denied to be enrolled for they named them Rwandese, until some of them were arrested as Minembwe Capital News was informed by the area residents.
These voting cards are given to Congolese above 18 years old, in this country they are waiting for the presidential election in December this year.
