On July 25, a demonstration was held by the Citizens’ Network for a Future for All (RCA ASBL) in front of the French Embassy in Kinshasa to “demand from France financial and economic penalties against Rwanda.”
According to the coordinator of RCA, Marcelin Bacilembe, the protesters requested sanctions on President Paul Kagame and other dignitaries of his regime as well as the diplomatic isolation of Rwanda taking into account the region of influence of France.
Invoking the M23 uprising as pretext, the DRC accuses Rwanda of invasion. These allegations have never been upheld by Kigali.
Despite its denials and the numerous documented findings from United Nations experts, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi said that “Rwanda supports the M23. This nation relies on the proceeds of the DRC’s war of aggression to maintain itself” ( an allegation according to RWANDA).
According to Felix Tchisekedi, Rwanda’s goal is to pressure the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to talk with a group of M23 while they build up a reservoir of dissidence to continue waging a war of exploitation that is essential to their economy.
We “cannot negotiate with people who act by implication” due to all of these factors.
“The truth is that the DRC has been attacking Rwanda repeatedly. The continued volatility in the DRC is greatly advantageous to Rwanda economically. Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi stated, “This is why Rwanda will never want to talk, and this is why the DRC refuses to talk with these puppets that are presented to us as people who have something to say .
