According to Sky Sports News, Roy Hodgson has a “verbal agreement in place” to lead Crystal Palace again next season.
A contract must still be approved, though, before it can be said with certainty that the 75-year-old will stay at Selhurst Park in 2019.
As part of their due diligence, Palace’s executives took their time evaluating numerous choices and taking long-term options into account.
But in the end, Hodgson’s standing with many of the crucial players on the Palace team played a role in the choice.
With 18 points from his 10 games in charge, Palace comfortably stayed in the Premier League and finally finished 11th in the standings after Hodgson replaced Patrick Vieira in March on a temporary basis.
On August 12, freshly promoted Sheffield United will visit Bramall Line to play Crystal Palace to open the 2023–24 season.
Prior to traveling to the Amex for the follow-up match on the south coast on February 3, the Eagles host rival Brighton on December 23.
Over the holiday season, Palace hosts Brentford on December 30 before traveling to Chelsea on Boxing Day.
The remaining three games of Palace’s season are against Man Utd in south London on May 4, Wolves on May 11, and Aston Villa on May 19. August 2023
