Alain Bernard Mukuralinda, also known as Alain Muku.
He was born in the city of Kigali in 1970 and passed away at the age of 55. At just 9 years old, he had already begun to show a talent for singing.
He studied at APE Rugunga, continued his secondary education in Rwamagana, and attended university in Belgium. While in secondary school, Mukuralinda played soccer and served as a referee for inter-school competitions in Rwamagana.
Alain Mukuralinda became well-known as a lawyer, as well as a musician and an artist who promoted his fellow musicians, especially those he believed deserved support.
Alain Mukuralinda entered the music scene in 1990 at Impala studio.
He produced popular songs like “Musekeweya” and participated in various concerts, even serving as a judge in music competitions like “PGGSS.”
Alain Mukurarinda was the one who took the hand of Nsengiyumva Francois, known as ‘Igisupusupu’, bringing him from Gatsibo where he used to perform for people with a guitar.
He was the initiator of the “Hanga Higa” program aimed at promoting Rwandan music through young talented children.
Mukuralinda became a Prosecutor in 2002.
Alain Mukurarinda also served as a Prosecutor during that time and litigated many significant cases in the country.
In 2015, he went to live with his family in Europe because his wife had secured a job in Netherlands at Heineken.
Later, he moved to Côte d’Ivoire where his wife had found work as a marketing officer at Heineken’s branch in Abidjan.
In 2018, he published a book titled “Qui Manipule qui” discussing the case he was involved in with the prosecutor of Ingabire Victoire after many people frequently inquired about it.
He founded a soccer academy called “Tsinda Batsinde.”
Alain Mukuralinda married Martine Gatabazi in 2006; the two had met in primary school and decided to marry after growing up, and they had children together.
In December 2021, the Council of Ministers appointed Alain Mukuralinda as the Deputy Government Spokesperson, and he passed away while still in that position.
The news of his death was announced on the evening of Thursday, April 3, 2025, stating that he died from a stroke caused by a brain aneurysm.
