Yesterday, Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Wazalendo, in collaboration with the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo, launched an attack on the Banyamulenge aimed at capturing the area of Gakangala located in the Minembwe commune in the South Kivu province.
This was confirmed to us by one of the fighters from Twirwaneho, who stated that the enemy that launched the attack yesterday, Wednesday, in Gakangala, was greatly deceived by devil.
He said: “The devil that led them had deceived them badly. I have no doubt about this. It’s true.”
The attack occurred in the morning hours, as the sound of gunfire started to be heard around five o’clock in the morning until about 12:43 in the evening.
It is reported that Wazalendo, who launched this attack, intended to seize Gakangala, but Twirwaneho proved to be stronger, as they fought back and pushed them back to where they came from in the forests of Lulenge.
Not only did they push them back, but they also disarmed them, taking weapons including “guns.”
This Twirwaneho fighter explained to us that Wazalendo, who launched this attack, had been deceived, because if they had not been misled, they would not have headed towards Gakangala, as it is right in front of Twirwaneho.
He stated: “Gakangala is close to where Twirwaneho’s positions are, so I have no doubt that the devil leading them had deceived them.”
He continued to explain: “They came thinking they could take Gakangala, but that won’t happen in the eyes of Twirwanaho.”
He stated that when a ‘farmer’ sees a stone while farming in his field, that stone does not affect the hoe, thus Wazalendo would not succeed in defeating Twirwaneho.
Furthermore, he said that anyone who intends to drive the Banyamulenge out of Mulenge at this time will not succeed; it might have been possible in the past, but now it is no longer feasible. He said: “Tell the Abapfulero and Ababembe who are attacking us with the aim of driving us out of this country that what they are doing will not benefit them! They almost tried before, but they did not succeed, and what they could not achieve in the past, they will not be able to achieve now. Instead, it will bring them trouble like a flood.”
