The city of Kisangani in the province of Tshopo, which is the third largest in Congo after Kinshasa, the capital city of DRC Congo, and Lubumbashi in the former Katanga region, is said to be home to the Belgian Army and many FARDC soldiers.
According to the information we got from Kisangani residents, says that there are Belgian soldiers and many FARDC soldiers who were wounded in the Previous battles of South and North kivu
It is said that the Belgian forces arrived in this area two weeks ago, where they had come to protect the local airport of Bangoka, and train t FARDC soldiers. The local resident said that, “Belgian soldiers are here. They are staying in Kisangani. They have come to train FARDC soldiers and protect the airport of Bangoka (Aéroport de Bangoka). It is said also that Kisangani can fall into the hands of M23 fighters at any moment because of many FARDC soldiers are injured.
M23 are currently fighting with the government forces in about 430 kilometers away from the town of Kisangani towards Walikale. This means that war is still far from kisangani. However, If M23 in any case happen to take the small town of Lubutu, there are high chances that Congolese forces in Kisangani will withdraw their forces, and the city will be captured by M23
Kisangani, apart from being the third largest city in Congo, it is also the main base of the third zone of the FARDC forces led by Lt. Gen. Pacifique Masunzu, whom his people accuse him to betraying them.
In the past few days, drones were flying from Kisangani and bombing villages inhabited by Mulenge people in Minembwe.
