In Kinshasa, there are reports of an extraordinary act of violence committed against a senior FARDC officer, Brigadier General Eric Ruhorimbere, a native of Mulenge.
General Ruhorimbere, a soldier in the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC), was kidnapped in Kinshasa, the capital city of the DRC.
At around 11:00 p.m. last night, leading into this Saturday, November 1st, 2025, General Eric Ruhorimbere was abducted.
According to information from people close to him, he was arrested by soldiers from the unit responsible for protecting the Head of State. They later took him to an undisclosed location.
It is also reported that he had for some time been subjected to persecution based on his ethnicity — he is a Munyamulenge (a Tutsi community from South Kivu).
They said:
“Gen. Ruhorimbere was kidnapped by soldiers from President Felix Tshisekedi’s security guards. They took him to an unknown place. But he had long been facing ethnic persecution because of being a Munyamulenge.”
Some sources indicate clearly that President Tshisekedi had ordered that all Tutsi/Munyamulenge soldiers in his army should be eliminated. Whenever they are arrested, they are accused of collaborating with the Alliance Fleuve Congo (AFC), M23, or MRDP — movements that are fighting against the Kinshasa government.
The arrest of General Eric Ruhorimbere is therefore seen as part of the implementation of Tshisekedi’s alleged plan — a plan reportedly supported by Lt. Gen. Pacifique Masunzu, who commands the Third Military Zone of the national army headquartered in Kisangani, Tshopo Province.
Although Masunzu himself is also of Munyamulenge origin, he is accused of betraying his own people, killing them, and committing other acts of violence against them.
Reports add that the trust he continuously receives from the Kinshasa government stems from those brutal actions he carries out against his fellow Munyamulenge.
