Shocking Attack in Minembwe: FARDC Drone Strikes Banyamulenge Cattle, Killing Several!

Minembwe Capital News (MCN)

On the evening of Friday, November 6, 2026, a drone operated by the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) carried out an attack in the Upper Biziba area, targeting livestock belonging to members of the Banyamulenge community in a residential area. The attack killed several cattle and left others seriously injured, according to information received by Minembwe Capital News (MCN).

Information obtained by MCN indicates that the attack occurred in Nyagishasha, in Upper Biziba, where the drone reportedly struck cattle belonging to the Banyamulenge community.

In a testimony shared with MCN, one source stated: “In Nyagishasha, in Upper Biziba, a drone has just struck cattle. Some were killed, while others sustained serious injuries.”

The attack comes amid continued FARDC aerial operations throughout the day in various parts of the region, including Rugezi, Point Zéro, Nyaruhinga and other locations, involving unmanned aerial vehicles commonly known as drones.

Residents of the affected areas have expressed deep sorrow and concern over the continued attacks on areas inhabited by the Banyamulenge community, particularly the destruction of livestock, which represents a vital source of livelihood for many families.

They have called on the international community to condemn the actions of FARDC and those they accuse of collaborating with it in military operations, including Burundian forces, Wazalendo and FDLR armed groups, as well as mercenaries reportedly originating from Europe and Asia.

Residents also expressed dismay over what they described as attacks by national armed forces against civilian-populated areas, resulting in the destruction of livestock that constitutes a fundamental pillar of their daily livelihoods.

According to these residents, attacks targeting the Banyamulenge community have continued for more than nine years, with devastating consequences for their livelihoods, including the destruction of homes, the killing of livestock and the loss of human lives.
